This wine has help up very nicely and shows a gracious evolution for ten years of age. The texture is soft, the tannins are silky, and the acidity remains present throughout this fantastic tasting experience. The colour show a nice orange brick on the rim expressing some age and the nose follows suit with some elegant evolutive notes like fig spread, plum jam, expresso coffee, pipe tobacco, chestnut, and caramel but also some freshness pops up when swirling, with raspberry jam and a nice floral component. The palate is packed with licorice, dried herbs, fresh ground coffee, cherry compote, fruit cake, tar and toffee. The finish is sensational with a mix of lingering spice like cloves and cinnamon, potpourri and also the house style minerality, ever-present even after 10 years of cellaring. This wine has reached 70% of its life-span and has more surprises for you in the future. (CWC, Sept 25, 2023).
