It’s amazing how bright and young this 2019 entry level blend comes out of the gate shining with crunchy red fruits and excellent structure. The nose is expressive with earthy aromas, red cherry, red currant, sandalwood and violet. The palate is well-integrated with purposeful barrel aging, fine low alcohol levels and a stunning back-bone of acidity and length for the price-point, which includes defined flavours of red currant, ripe wild raspberry, dark cocoa, sweet tobacco leaves and some crushed wet stone past the mid-palate. I found an explosion of spice on the finish which appears like a burst of chili pepper. A great wine, exuding the 2019 vintage with great complexity for $25.
