2020 Rust “Golden Mile” Syrah

This is from the home vineyard on the Golden Mile Bench, which also spent 18 months in French & Hungarian oak , with 33% of new barrels. A very classic Golden Mile delivery with rich fruits, purposeful weight and great concentration. After a little swirling, notes of black cherries, mulberries, and wild blueberries tumble from the glass, followed by hints of lavender, Indian spices, and dusty soil. The full-bodied palate, rich in texture, is coated with expressive black fruits like dark cherry, black raspberry, plum, sweet tobacco and a hint of dried figs and soy reduction…supported by ripe, rounded tannins and lovely freshness, finishing very long and mineral-laced exuding black cracked pepper and cinnamon. This Syrah is ready to go! Showing great at the moment and will also improve with cellaring for the next five years.
