2020 Rust “Okanagan Falls” Syrah

This wine is all about finesse and elegance, purity and terroir typicity. Stylistically, this is completely at the opposite of its Similkameen counterpart. From the Lost Horn Vineyard in Okanagan Falls, the block of Syrah was recently planted in 2016, making this wine fresh and energetic, fleshy, and showcases the spectacular OK Falls minerality. On the nose, aromas of dark currant cassis, violets, cedar box and cured meat are very reflective of the evolution from the very first release in 2019. The palate confirms the elegance of this wine and offers a surprising depth for its second vintage. A mix of red and dark fruits dominates the aromas with a deep savoury aspect, supported by a classic stony minerality reminding us of where it comes from. The finish is gracious and long highlighting white pepper and other oak spices.
