2021 13th Street Cab-Merlot

This is a classic representation for the 2020 vintage where entry level wines made from Cabs and Merlot shine at their brightest. Round and supple, this wine displays approachability and enough complexity to be called serious if compared to a value Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux, but for half the price. On the nose we get clear aromas of blueberry and blackcurrant, also graphite, cedar and tobacco all lined up in a purposeful sequence. The palate is also well thought out, delivering flavours of blackberry, black cherry, dark chocolate, licorice and sweet tobacco leaves. The finish is medium long and brings along some nice rounded tannic structures.
