2021 Blasted Church “Holy Moly” Petit Verdot

From the East Bench in Osoyoos, at one of the hottest sites of this growing region, this 100% Petit Verdot wine showcases spectacular richness, POWER and unexpected freshness, which adds a level of purity and class.  Offering gorgeous crème de cassis, lead pencil shavings, purple flowers, tobacco leaf, vanilla bean, and damp earth-like aromas, this is definitely a wine you’ll remember. Distinctive, pure, clean and full-bodied, this broad and extensive wine offers flavours of dark fruits like black plum, black currant, cassis, coffee, tar, vanilla (from the 22 months in French barrels – 50% new) and fresh herbs. The tannins are not as pungent as I expected, showing softness and approachability, but also connecting the mid palate with the great lengthy finish.
