Mostly made from Merlot and Syrah, this crowd pleaser red blend is one of my favourites of BC’s 2022 vintage. It displays a great balance between fruit extraction and freshness. The aromas are stunningly appealing with mint chocolate, eucalyptus, blackberries and raspberry jam. Medium-bodied, bright and crisp with fine tannins and good length. The light-red plum, strawberry and raspberry flavours are enhanced by baking spices, vanilla and tobacco, making for a pleasantly affordable wine which can impress wine lovers of all demographics. Interesting fact: this wine has a small portion of Syrah and Cab Sauv from the 2021 vintage included in the blend. That tiny portion was aged for 14 months in barrels, adding depth and complexity to a wine that punches way above its weight class. Buy it by the case, you won’t regret that!
