Grown on the 27-acre family farm on the gorgeous Naramata Bench, this Viognier stays true to both the varietal and its place of origin. Bold and rich in texture, it surprises with a bright level of acidity—which is not always the case for Viognier, and very welcome. The nose is bursting with stone fruit aromas like pear, peach, and apricot, along with a lovely floral lift—violet in particular. There’s a smooth transition from the front to the mid-palate, which keeps the wine feeling cohesive and complete. On the palate, it’s fruit-forward with layers of white peach, fresh apricot, poached pear, and just a hint of apple pie. The finish is worth “the crack,” with long-lasting stony minerality well integrated into a thread of white pepper. A solid bottle under $25. (Carl Boucher, Feb 17, 2025).
