2022 Ferox Riesling Dry

Dry, austere, intriguing and wonderfully made, this Riesling showcases tremendous complexity and a cerebral challenge for any wine geek! Jeeezzzz, I spent hours smelling and dissecting this wine with fierce devotion and enjoyment. The contrast and the resemblance with his sweeter cousin (the other 2022 Riesling) are fascinating. Definitely made from the same hand, with similar connectivity like texture and precision, but drastically different delivery in term of style, approach and finish. The nose and palate are both very classy and expressive, offering classic notes of “petrol,” clear and intense, but highly refined that perfectly blends mineral with concentrated lemon, green and yellow apple, spring cantaloupe and smoky flavours. Directional, concentrated and very defined on the palate, this is an almost bone-dry Riesling, but it is highly finessed, well-structured and perfectly salty with a long and tension-filled finish. Fine tannins reflect the terroir of the Niagara Region. Taste side by side with the sweeter Riesling from Ferox, if you’re in for a fantastic experience.
