Q: How long is my VIP Plus or Unlimited membership valid for?

A: Your membership is valid for one year from the date you activate it.

Q: Does the membership auto-renew?

A: No, you won't be charged again when the membership expires. We will contact you before it expires with the option to extend your membership though :)


Q: Where can I access my membership benefits?
A: As soon as you join, you'll receive a welcome email with the links to your archive of tasting notes, current wineries with free VIP shipping, and how you can redeem any of the other benefits. You'll need to set up an account (login) on our website to see the tasting notes archive.

 
Q: How do I use my Free Shipping benefits?

A: You'll receive emails every time we feature a new winery, with your VIP free shipping link. Free Shipping applies to orders of six bottles or more from one winery. 


Q: Where can I ship to using Free Shipping?

A: We will honour your free shipping credits or Unlimited plan to any address in Canada that is serviced couriers or Canada Post, except for Nunavut or very remote addresses.

Q: What are the wine regions we will explore in the club?

A: Through our special events and featured wineries we will explore every Canadian wine region that is producing vinifera grapes. Including: the Okanagan Valley, Niagara, the Similkameen, Vancouver Island, Prince Edward County, Lake Erie North Shore, Nova Scotia, Quebec, and other emerging regions!

Q: What is the tasting notes archive and where do I access it?

A: Members often ask if Carl has reviewed a wine or if they can access the tasting notes for a wine. This can help a lot if you're deciding when to drink a wine, or just want to learn a bit more about the wine when you're about to open something from your cellar. Ironically, wineries don't often publish tasting notes of their previous vintages once they're sold out...but you will have access to them! Once you set up your login to the Carl's Wine Club website, you will be able to access a searchable archive of Carl's tasting notes and scores, updated frequently with newly reviewed wines. Carl tastes and scores hundreds and hundreds of Canadian wines each year. 


Q: What benefits do you offer for in person wine tours to Canadian wine regions?

A: VIP Unlimited members can access a complimentary consult with Carl & Mira to share specific advice and recommendations for your trip. We can assist you with itinerary planning, bookings, shipping your wine back home, and even provide a complimentary tasting for up to 4 guests!


Q: What is your refund policy on memberships?

A: If for any reason you are not satisfied with your membership, you can request a refund in full within 30 days of activation. If you have used your free shipping credits or discounts, the amount of the charges you would have incurred without membership will be deducted from the refund owing.

When we started Carl's Wine Club on July 1, 2020, we were in the thick of the pandemic...and we found a way to build community while supporting World Class Canadian wineries.

I've now tasted well over 3,500 Canadian wines - a tough job, but someone has to do it!

I continue to search for the very best wineries to share with you, and the most exciting wines. We feature a different Canadian winery every 1-2 weeks to members, often with exclusive releases not available anywhere else.

How does this work?

Carl's Wine Club is Canada's first pan-Canadian, direct-to-consumer wine club.

Being a member of the wine club is FREE and you have access to our informative emails and our live virtual events with Carl to learn more about Canadian wineries.

We feature a different Canadian winery every 1-2 weeks with a specially curated mix of wines. You choose if and how much wine to purchase, with winery direct pricing and shipping deals.

Is the order page secure?

Yes, absolutely! We use a secure website and order page, with all credit card information processed by a PCI-compliant payment processor and bank-grade SSL encryption of your data.

What size bottles will I receive?

All bottles are 750ml (standard wine bottles) unless otherwise noted. There may be a different size bottle for instance for Magnums at 1.5L or smaller bottles for Ice Wines.

How does shipping work?

Shipping of wines is done from the featured winery directly, unless you're ordering a 'Mystery Pack' or other limited edition pack. Shipping is available to Canadian locations only. Shipping is usually completed by Courier, however Canada Post is used for rural or remote locations. You will receive a tracking number from the winery or courier system. Someone over the legal drinking age must be present at the time of delivery and provide ID to the delivery driver (this is a legal requirement). Please do your best to ensure that an adult is available to receive the order on the anticipated delivery date.
