They do it in London, they do it in Shanghai...but shockingly, this sort of tasting was never done before in Canada.
Until the first Pan-Canadian Masterclass was held, that is!
We had a vision of gathering wine lovers from across the country to enjoy and appreciate Canadian wine from Coast to Coast...but also to share the fascinating stories behind Canada's World Class wine scene.
The first Pan-Canadian was held in Niagara to a resounding success.
One guest told us it was the most unique and thrilling wine event he had ever attended - in over 45 years of wine tasting around the world.
Not only did we do the tasting amongst members and wine lovers, but several winemakers themselves flew and drove out to be a part of our panel discussion. A big thanks to Bella Terra Vineyards for hosting us for Version 1.0 and for their incredible vision and support.
Version 2.0 was held in Oliver BC, and we nearly doubled the amount of wine lovers attending. A LOT of wine glasses were employed. 13 wines, 12 winemakers or winery owners, from Coast to Coast...from Nova Scotia to Niagara to the Okanagan to the Similkameen to Vancouver Island! Four hours of tasting, food and incredible wine conversations. Thank you to Hester Creek Estate Winery for hosting us for Version 2.0.
I know many of you circled the date for our next Pan-Canadian in the calendar already...June 21, 2025.
And in true Carl's Wine Club style, we have turned this into 3.5 days of wine country bliss, with opportunities to tailgate in the vineyard with winemakers, tour wineries (behind the scenes!) and gather for meals.
Now, ladies and gentlemen, it is time to announce Version 3.0...to be held at Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery, in Jordan, Ontario!
