Find Out The Truth About BC's 2024 Vintage [45+ Wines & Winemaker Interviews]

👉 Click here to see the working list of wines and wineries in the live show (we'll update this as we taste each one)

We will update this page with a recap of the day, including scores, tasting notes and the trends we noticed.

Currently, we have 45 wines with an average value per bottle of $24.73 plus tax. All of the wines being tasted will be rose and white wines, with the exception of one red wine.

Not sure what happened with the 2024 BC vintage?

Last winter changed everything for BC wine.

I live right on Okanagan Lake, and for the first time in decades, it nearly froze over.

We endured over 56 straight hours below -21°C—the kind of cold that shuts vines down completely, and can even kill them.

The result? Most BC wineries lost their entire 2024 grape crop. Many are now replanting, meaning we won’t see full local harvests again for years.

But BC winemakers didn’t give up.

To keep their doors open and their teams working, many brought in grapes from Washington, Oregon, and other places—a decision made well before the current trade climate and US-Canada tensions.

These wines were still made here, by our winemakers and their teams, and they continue to support BC’s wine industry 100%.

The result is something special for us wine lovers: a one-time-only vintage that's "Crafted in BC"—and gives us the rare chance to try varietals like Albarino, Grenache, Chenin Blanc, and Cinsault. Wines we rarely see in this region.

On April 12, I’m going live with several winemakers to taste and talk through over 45 of these wines.

You'll get the full story of what happened, how wineries adapted, and the exciting wines that came out of it.

It’s a chapter in BC wine history you’ll want to be a part of - and taste for yourself.
Cheers,
Carl
