River Stone Estate Winery is located in Canada’s wine capital: Oliver, BC.
I first encountered River Stone wines when touring the Okanagan with two of our Carl’s Wine Club members. They both spoke very highly of River Stone, and I was thoroughly impressed by what we tasted together.
This family run winery is built on the life-long dream and passion of founders Ted and Lorraine Kane. The family re-located with their young children from Edmonton, AB to pursue the dream of opening a winery.
Today, established vines, a great vineyard site, and many vintages of experience allow River Stone to create terroir-driven, rich and concentrated wines in the South Okanagan.
Of all the wineries we discovered together in 2023, members voted River Stone our #1 BC Winery of the Year!
To celebrate, River Stone hosted members for an incredible afternoon of wine tasting, food and music in September 2024. In the wines available this week, you'll be able to taste many of the wines that impressed us!

River Stone’s co-owner and resident winemaker is Ted Kane.
Ted is a self confessed chemistry geek whose passion for all things wine is reflective in the renowned vintages he produces for River Stone, his family run winery in Oliver BC.
It all started with a passion for winemaking and the love of all things technical. He started making wine at the early age of 17, experimenting with his wines in the basement of his home in Edmonton, Alberta.
He soon realised that the best wines came from the best grapes and he began to venture out to find the land of his dreams.
The quest led him to to Oliver, BC, and eventually to finding the perfect property on which to found River Stone.
After many years of research and studies, Ted and his wife Lorraine were able to move their family to their newly acquired land in 2001, and plant their vineyards.
Today, the premium fruit produced on site creates award-winning wines year in and year out.
