The Winery Story
Southbrook is a storied winery with decades of experience crafting Niagara wine. Below is an excerpt of their story from the winery's website.

An appreciation of gourmet foods and wines led the Redelmeiers to create a boutique winery and unique special event location, housed in the farm’s century-old barns that had been purchased by Bill Redelmeier's grandfather in 1941.
In 1991, having sourced some of the Niagara region’s finest grape varietals, Southbrook produced their first 2,000 cases of wine. During this time, they were ably assisted by the craftsmanship of Derek Barnett.
Southbrook had always sourced grapes from Niagara-on-the-Lake at that point, so Bill was excited about operating his own vineyard there. Brought on as a winemaking consultant in 2005, Ann Sperling introduced Bill to an excellent opportunity. A 74-acre parcel in the warm Four Mile Creek sub-appellation of Niagara-on-the-Lake went on the market, complete with 36 acres of ideally planted, well-selected varieties and top-notch clones - the site of today's Southbrook Vineyards.
Since then, the vineyard holdings have continued to expand, and a state-of-the-art, LEED certified winery and hospitality pavilion was created.
As of the 2020 vintage, Casey Hogan has taken over winemaking at Southbrook.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Casey developed a passion for wine early in life. After completing a sommelier accreditation, he shifted his focus to achieving a Bachelor of Science in Oenology and Viticulture at Brock University. Since then, Casey has worked with wineries in Margaret River, Central Otago, Willamette Valley, the Okanagan Valley, and Niagara.
In 2019, Casey moved back to Ontario to become the winemaker at international award-winning winery, Southbrook Vineyards.
