2021 Bachelder “Les Villages” Gamay Noir

A fantastic mix of approachability and complexity, where power meets finesse. A truly regional Gamay, Les Villages brings you to both sides of the Niagara peninsula with great vineyard sites included like “Wismer Foxcroft” and “Bator” on the Escarpment but also “Bai Xu” and “Willms” in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The nose delivers pure notes of violet, red cherry, blueberry and a hint of smokey cherry wood. The palate is rich and bright while flavours of dark cherry, ripe raspberry and stewed strawberry shine in an effortless combination of fruits and spices including a very long spicy finish. This wine surely punches way above its weight-class.
