2022 Lightning Rock Elysia Vineyard Pinot Noir🔥93+pts

Elysia Vineyard is Lightining Rock's home vineyard, planted in 2006. I know that this Pinot won Silver while the CanyonView from 2022 won Platium, so here's my hot take. I believe this wine has much better aging potential, and I rate it higher. It's a darker, Old World style of Pinot. Aromas are more earthy and the wine has more structure, brighter acid, stronger tanins...needing more time to develop but promising much more in the long term. I love the sweet edges on the mid-palate, the black licorice, and the long, earthy, leather finish that gives a black-pepper sensation at the end. Overall, it's a very sexy wine. I can project great things to come for this Pinot for those with the patience to cellar it. (Carl Boucher, Sept 10, 2025). Only 316 cases made.
