This crushable medium body red blend comes with a great price point and is normally only served at restaurants. A great example of a wine where the price point adds half a point to the wine. How can you pass up a well structured red at just $16.75 all in?

This unusual multi-vintage blend made mostly of Zweigelt and Syrah is super approachable and surprisingly layered. Aromas of blueberry pie, smoked meat, black cherry and a hint of cinammon. 

The palate is also approachable with a nice level of acidity and flavours of blueberry, black cherry, blue plum, a little bit of cocoa, a hint of leather and black pepper (on the finish) - all in all, more complex than you'd expect.

Makes for great 'cellar insurance' and a wine that puts a smile on my face. A lot of fun! (Carl Boucher, Sept 19, 2025).

The price point of this wine is absolutely astonishing. I can't believe you can get a wine of this quality for under $17 tax in. Made from three different vintages, this crushable Riesling and Chard blend can be a major crowd pleaser. Great texture, satisfying length, and the right balance between acidity and sweetness.

Aromas of white flowers, pineapple, white peach, golden apple: definitely Riesling dominant on the nose. The palate is seductive and balanced, showing no spikes of sweetness, and consistently lifted by acidity. The white peach definitely comes back as a primary flavour, well supported by a hint of tropical fruit, but not forgotten by citrus fruits like confit lemon and yellow apple.

Bring that to a party, and you'll be popular. What a hit! Serve chilled. (Carl Boucher, Sept 19, 2025). 

When we re-tasted this wine blind with members, it stands as one of the very top value wines ever tasted from thousands of Canadian wines over the last five years. 

The Chardonnay and the Riesling from 2022 were both aged for over a year in neutral oak, which brings beautiful texture to the wine. What a find! (Carl Boucher, February 28, 2026).

Ce vin est une combinaison intéressante du style de la maison Ferox et de la typicité du millésime. Un style clairement influencé par l'Ancien Monde, intégré au millésime 2020 incroyablement chaud, qui produit généralement des vins plus fruités et juteux. Bref : ample et juteux, mêlé à des notes terreuses et retenues ! Très intéressant… J'adore. Au nez, j'ai retrouvé les arômes classiques de bois de cerisier du Cabernet Franc, auxquels s'ajoutent des notes de cerise noire, de framboise sauvage, de réglisse et de vanille. La bouche évolue agréablement vers la richesse et la densité, soutenues par une acidité remarquable. Les tanins commencent à se fondre dans le vin et l'effet boisé ne perturbe pas le profil. Tout est en parfaite harmonie. Des saveurs de cerise rouge et noire, de mûre, de confiture de myrtille, de glaçage au soja, de moka et une longue finale persistante aux notes de cardamome et de poivre s'expriment pleinement du début à la fin.

Carl's Wine Club is Canada's first pan-Canadian, direct-to-consumer wine club.

 

Being a member of the wine club is FREE and you have access to our informative emails and our live virtual events with Carl to learn more about Canadian wineries.

 

We feature a different Canadian winery every 1-2 weeks with a specially curated mix of wines. You choose if and how much wine to purchase, with winery direct pricing and shipping deals. 

 

On Wednesdays (yes Wine Wednesdays!) we also go LIVE on our social media platforms to chat about Canadian wine and often interview winemakers. Cheers!

How does shipping work?

The wineries ship these wines to you via couriers like Canada Post, UPS, Purolator, ATS or GLS and the wines arrive right to your doorstep! No need to spend time or gas or manpower to visit a store.

 

Your wines will ship within 1-2 weeks of your order date, as wineries ship out our club orders all together in a few batches. You'll receive a tracking number from our system and sometimes also from the winery's system.

 

Someone over the legal drinking age must be present at the time of delivery and provide ID to the delivery driver (this is a legal requirement). Please do your best to ensure that an adult is available to receive the order on the anticipated delivery date.
