Despite the heavy portion of Cab Sauv and Petit Verdot, this wine shows elegance and finesse over power and richness. Using the five classic Bordeaux varietals and the South Okanagan King: a healthy 13% Syrah. You can call it a “Super Okanagan” blend. The nose is shining with black fruits like black cherry, black currant, licorice, cedar and vanilla while the palate displays a full load of cassis, cherry, black currant, blueberry, sweet tobacco, dark cocoa and a fantastic mineral sensation of charcoal past the mid palate, which adds another dimension to this already very complex wine. The finish is soft and delivers light spices like cinnamon and cardamom, sprinkled with a hint of white pepper. ANOTHER very well priced wine that punches way above its weight class. This wine has matured very well and will remain on a splendid aging curve for another 2+ years. (Carl Boucher, September 7, 2023).
