2020 Leaning Post Gamay | 91+pts

For the first time, this vintage was sourced from Hubel Creek Vineyard in Niagara-on-the-Lake. It was fermented in concrete and aged for 10 months in neutral French oak. With a medium-plus body, the wine offers great concentration, fantastic varietal typicity and – the stand out feature - an extremely long and satisfying finish. On the nose, aromas of red cherry, crushed raspberry, cigar box, dried violets, warmth earth and fresh thyme. The palate is well layered and displays a stunning structure lifted by a burst of acidity. The front palate is loaded with juicy flavours of Bing cherry, ripe raspberry, licorice and cranberry compote, while the mid palate offers the perfect weight and freshness combo while enabling the floral and meaty components to shine. It truly showcases the full Gamay flavour spectrum. The finish offers loads of cloves, white pepper and cinnamon.
