The young and grippy 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 18 months in French oak barrels including 30% new oak, is another absolutely spectacular wine from the Painted Rock Estate Winery team.

Well-balanced but grippy, young and super precise, this wine will age for a long time.

The nose of graphite, blackcurrant, black cherry, savoury herbs, and beautifully integrated oak spice is incredibly classic and expressive.

Ā 

The palate is opulent and rich, but still lifted and very well integrated. The finish definitely lingers and evolves, while flavours of black fruit, plum, tobacco, cedar, a hint of mint and lots of oak spice continue to build with air. There is a bit of projection in my score, but the future is looking very bright for this wine.
