From the Clos du Soleil estate vineyard on the Keremeos upper bench, we find a wine of power and of elegance - at the same time. Power in terms of richness and concentration. Elegance in terms of soft tannins and bright acidity. The Cabernet Sauvignon shines in this wine and brings the typical characteristics you can expect for this varietal. On the nose, blackberry, crushed raspberry, black currant, cedar, pencil shavings, and tobacco. The palate is soft - it seems like this wine is hitting it's prime at the moment with beautifully intergrated alcohol and tanins. Silky and smooth, with flavours of blackberry, black currant, black cherry, dark chocolate, and some savoury notes, as well as some nicely developed oak spices past the mid palate. A long stony finish adds extra complexity and layers to this discovery.

This Old World, Rhone Valley inspired Syrah, was one of the stand out wines at the third edition of the Pan-Canadian Masterclass. Aged for 16 months in French oak, using 75% neutral barrels and 25% second use. Note that 2% Viognier was co-fermented with the Syrah, which helped deliver a dark colour. The nose opens up with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, graphite, smoked meat, a hint of olive. The palate is densely packed, lifted by bright acidity, with layers of dark fruit, blueberry, peppers, finely textured tannins, and notes of tobacco and licorice on the finish. That stunning Similkameen minerality is unique - something you won't find anywhere else in Canada.

This Bordeaux-inspired blend dominated by Merlot is sourced from four different vineyards and aged in 100% French oak for 15 months, with 15% new. A nose of plum, blackberry, red cherry, graphite, basil and rosemary plus a hint of dark chocolate. The palate is crunchy, juicy, and has multiple layers. The blue plum comes up strong, plus support from maraschino cherry, cassis, and a bit of tobacco after the mid-palate. The great minerality of the Similkameen brings style and personality to this wine. I can drink that wine in anywhere - from a holiday party to a patio by the lake. Super approachable and delicious!

A very special wine, inspired by the classic Sauternes in the Bordeaux region of France. This 100% Sauv Blanc late harvest absolutely hits the spot in every way possible! Expressive aromas of hay, hint of mushroom, apple puree, apricot and oranges. Right away, you can smell what you're getting into, and it's very good! The palate is luscious, dense, and highlighted by bright acidity balanced with 85g of residual sugar. A beautiful harmony between the sweetness and the acid. Flavours of ripe apricot, blood orange, golden apple, and creme brulee. This bottle will just keep improving with age.

After the devastating winter freeze in early 2024, this rosé was made in BC using 100% Sangiovese grapes from the Yakima Valley, WA. The wine offers a great level of acidity but also stands out for texture and a good weight on the mid-palate. Slight citrus on the nose with red cherry and hints of floral notes. The palate is totally white peach, blended with strawberry, raspberry and a bit of savouriness past the mid-palate. I like the white pepper on the finish and the pulse and acidity throughout.

For the second year in a row, the Similkameen suffered a complete loss of grape crops, which led most producers to source grapes in the nearby Washington State. A beautiful source of Chardonnay was available and winemaker Michael Clarke helped with farming, as well as harvested the fruits himself, bringing it back to his team in the Similkameen. Highlights include bright acid, beautiful tropical fruits, a slight hint of vanilla, and soft peaches. Entirely fermented in French oak puncheons. I think that brings out the creme brulee on the finish, while also making this a complete and very balanced wine. There's great richness and bright energy in that wine. (Carl Boucher, Nov 2025).

Winemaking Notes: 

The grapes for this wine were harvested by hand at peak maturity. The berries were immediately pressed after harvest, followed by a light cold-settling to just partially clarify the juice. It was fermented entirely in older French oak puncheons. The wines were aged on the lees, with weekly lees stirring, for 5 months prior to bottling. Minimal, gentle handling of the wine in every stage of the production process was the key to preserving and showcasing the natural beauty of the fruit.

A unique wine. I mean, very unique and unsual, and perfect for the wine geeks! If you're one of those, you'll get your fix with this wine. Here's why: an almost equal blend of Cab Sauv and Cab Franc and guess what? No oak at all. Fermented and raised in concrete tanks ONLY. The result is brilliant. I didn't want to believe it at first, but this wine is so pure. Clean nose of black fruits and herbs create curiosity right out of the gate. Tha palate suprisingly opens up with great texture and richness that I didn't expect for a concrete-only wine. Flavours of blackberry, black cherry, chewy tobacco leaves, and black cocoa. The tannins are stiff but fit the profile of that wine and aren't intrusive. The finish is peppery and highly mineral - almost like you're licking a rock (but in a good way!). Try it for yourself, it's worth it! Normally only available to the Clos du Soleil wine club. Only three cases available!

Wow, so fresh and persistent. This wine shows a lot of youth for a 7 year old wine. This is the large format effect! It's a Bordeaux style blend of 42% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot, and the result is a complex sequence of aromas and flavours that deliver pure expression of the Similkameen Valley.

The 2018 vintage is the product of a long, warm growing season and was perfect for producing this style of wine. This beautifully aromatic wine explodes out of the glass with concentrated notes of red currant, black berry, cassis, roasted coffee, pipe tobacco along with savoury undertones and notions of sweet oak. On the palate it is rich and mouthcoating, with a seamless texture, the classic rustic Similkameen tannins framing luxurious layers of dark berry fruit, barrel spice and loads fresh herbs. The black pepper and clove interact with beautiful minerality on the finish.
