Discover Lunessence Vineyards & Winery, on the Summerland Bench in BC
Tucked into the hills above the Okanagan Lake, this small estate crafts quietly spectacular wines—full of purity, structure, and a soul of sustainability.
That's Lunessence.
This week only, you can access several exclusive releases, highly rated wines, and reduced shipping.
In particular, the 93+pt Cab Franc, 93pt Riesling and 92pt Gamay are some of the very best examples of these varietals I have tasted from BC in recent years.
But don’t wait. This winery has a loyal following—and once word gets out they’re back, these bottles won’t last long.

Lunessence
2024 Lunessence Rosé | 90+pts
90.5
- Crafted in BC (Oregon)
- 100% Pinot Noir
This wine was one of the stand outs amongst 50+ other roses and whites at our 'Crafted in BC' tasting a few months ago. Due to the deep freeze and widespread crop loss that happened in BC in 2024, Lunessence was able to source grapes for this rose from the Aebischer Vineyard in the Chehalam Mountains, Oregon (more on this story here). It spent 4 months on lees in neutral oak, which has created some great texture. Aromas of candied cherry, red apple, rhubarb, and roses. The creamy palate offers bright acidity and flavours of cherry, melon, and peaches. 90+pts Carl's Wine Club | 92pts Natalie MacLean
Dry Wine | RS: 2.3g/L | 12.3% ABV | Drink from 2025 to 2027
Pairings: terriyaki chicken, burrata salad

Lunessence
2023 Lunessence Estate Single Vineyard Riesling 🔥 93pts | Exclusive Release
93
- BC Okanagan Valley Summerland Bench VQA
- 100% Riesling
From the home vineyard on the Summerland Bench, this Riesling has been a Lunessence staple for years. In my opinion, this wine is consistently one of the best Rieslings produced in BC year in, year out. This 2023 version is a mixture of texture and vibrancy, showing great acidity and flavour definition. On the nose a floral component, with jasmine, green apple, and pear. On and palate, you'll find an outstanding blend of citrus and tropical fruit: lime, passion fruit, green apple in the middle, and a stoney mineral finish that reminds me of some of the most outstanding Niagara Rieslings too.The RS is extremely well blended throughout the structure, which makes it a prime candidate for the cellar. 93pts Carl's Wine Club | 92pts Natalie MacLean
Dry Wine | RS: 8.4g/L | 12.4% ABV | Drink from 2025 to 2032
Pairings: grilled pork loin, shrimp ceviche

Lunessence
2022 Lunessence Pinot Blanc | 92pts
92
- BC Okanagan Valley VQA
- 89% Pinot Blanc, 11% Semillon
Pinot Blanc from the Lunessence estate on the Summerland Bench, brilliantly blended with Semillon (barrel fermented) from OK Falls. The result? A stunning white! Gorgeous on the nose with floral notes, white peaches, and fresh cut ambrosia apples. The palate is light but rich with great complexity. The flavours are all in the wheelhouse of poached pears, zesty lime, and a hint of tropical fruit. There's so much structure and a great deal of seriousness likely from the Semillon - making this a perfect food wine! 92pts Carl's Wine Club | 92pts Natalie MacLean
Dry | 12.7% ABV | Drink from 2025 to 2028
Pairings: poached salmon, crispy crab cakes

Lunessence
2022 Lunessence Gamay | 92pts
92
- BC Okanagan Valley Summerland Lakefront VQA
- 100% Gamay
As far as I'm concerned, it's rare to find BC Gamay especially at this quality. This one ranks right near the top of what I've tasted so far from BC. Sourced from a small vineyard in the newly appointed Summerland Lakefront sub-appellation, this foot-trodden Gamay was wild-fermented and spent 9 months in neutral oak. Classic aromas of violet and roses, but also raspberry, cherry, and Chinese five spice. The palate is soft and creamy, delivering flavours of crushed raspberries, maraschino cherries, blue plum, and highlighted by an outstanding and long spicy finish. 92pts Carl's Wine Club | 90pts Anthony Gismondi | Gold, BC Lieutenant Governor Awards
Dry Wine | RS: 1.9g/L | 12.7% ABV | Drink from 2025 to 2028
Pairings: prosciutto pizza, baked four cheese ravioli

Lunessence
2021 Lunessence Cabernet Franc 🔥 93+pts
93.5pts
- BC Okanagan Valley VQA
- 100% Cabernet Franc
Dry | 14.1% ABV | Drink from 2025 to 2031
Wow, a stand out! This Cab Franc ranks amongst the very best that I've tasted in the last few years from BC. The fruit is sourced from the warmest spot in the Okanagan Valley in Osoyoos. This wine is rich but balanced, and truly highlights the amazing potential of Cab Franc in the South Okanagan. Wild ferment, unfined, unfiltered: expect a slightly cloudy look in the glass. Expressive aromas and flavours of blue raspberry, blackberry, dark chocolate and cedar. The palate is well built with a good balance between alcohol at 14.1, acidity (also great for longevity in the cellar) and great tannic structure - for muscularity and power. The finish has a beautiful pencil lead quality with black cracked pepper - just piling on the complexity and making this wine a true stand-out experience. 93+pts Carl's Wine Club | 92pts Natalie MacLean
Dry | 14.1% ABV | Drink from 2025 to 2031
Pairings: lamb kabobs, Italian lasagna

Lunessence
2022 Lunessence Petit Verdot | 92pts
92pts
- BC Okanagan Valley VQA
- 100% Petit Verdot
This wine is still a baby and might require some more aging but Oh My God is is ever delicious! Powerful but elegant, energetic and true to the varietal. If you're a red wine lover, this one should hit the spot. Aromas of violet, blackberry, blackcurrant, cedar and loads of graphite. The palate reflects the nose very well and as I mentioned, the tannins are not yet completely melted in, but this does fit very well with a Petit Verdot. This wine will smooth out over time and can age 'forever' with the proper storage. I highly recommend at least a few bottles of this one for the cellar. 92pts Carl's Wine Club | 92pts Natalie MacLean
Dry Wine | RS: 2.3g/L | 14.0% ABV | Drink from 2025 to 2028
Pairings: slow roasted prime rib, hearty lamb stew with root vegetables

Lunessence
2023 Lunessence Estate Single Vineyard Pinot Noir | 91pts 🔥 Exclusive Release
91
- BC Okanagan Valley Summerland Bench VQA
- 100% Pinot Noir
This pre-release of small batch Estate Pinot Noir was fermented wild, and spent 7 months in French oak with a generous use of 20% new French. Well rounded, vibrant, and bright natural Summerland acidity plus a stunning depth of complexity. Opens with an Old World floral, herbacious and earthy approach. The fruit profile develops a lot after a couple of hours breathing. While sipping on this young and delicious Pinot you can expect aromas and flavours of purple basil, blue plum, potpourri, wild raspberry, vanilla, and cedar. A true Summerland stand out!
Dry Wine | RS: g/L | 13.0% ABV | Drink from 2025 to 2032
Pairings: duck liver pate on crostinis, smoked duck breast

Lunessence
2024 Lunessence "Small Lot Series" Albarino | 90pts
90
- Crafted in BC (Columbia Valley, Washington)
- 100% Albarino
This rare grape varietal absolutely shines under the Lunessence winemaking team. A very fruity approach with great weight on the mid-palate. This wine is more than a 'fruit salad' as might happen to Albarino - instead it offers depth and complexity and a fantastic Summer companion. Lemon curd, lemon meringue, peach, pear, floral notes, and even white spice at the end. There's so many great things happening when you sip. It's hit it's stride in the last month or so, and I expect it to shine for another 18 months or longer. Sourced from the Columbia Valley in Washington State due to the deep freeze that wiped out most of the BC vintage. 90pts Carl's Wine Club | 93pts Natalie MacLean
Dry | 12.2% ABV | Drink from 2025 to 2028
Pairings: crab legs, chicken pot pie

2022 Lunessence Estate Single Vineyard Chardonnay | 91pts 🔥 Exclusive Release
91
- BC Okanagan Valley Summerland Bench VQA
- 100% Chardonnay
There's so much potential for Chardonnay in the Summerland area and this very rare bottle from the Lunessence Summerland Bench Estate is a case in point. Stylistically, it reminds me of an Old World Chablis with it's precision and energy. You'll find aromas of white flowers and citrus, while the palate is all about vibrancy, bright acid and precision. Delicious! 91pts Carl's Wine Club
Dry | 13.3% ABV | Drink from 2025 to 2028
Pairings: halibut fish and chips, turkey bacon club

The Story & People Behind Lunessence
Founded in 2014 in the hills above Summerland, Lunessence has focused on what matters: organic farming, low-intervention winemaking, and an uncompromising respect for the vineyard.
By 2020, they earned full organic certification—and you can taste that purity in every bottle.
We have enjoyed our many conversations with GM Cameron Walker, a key champion of the Bottleneck Drive Association for wineries and breweries in the region.
They’ve built something special at Lunessence: a winery where foot-trodden fruit, wild fermentations, and small-lot precision come together to create wines that feel effortless—but are anything but ordinary.
Pro tip: if you're visiting in person, this winery has one of the best patio views in BC! And...if you're lucky you'll catch one of their famour Dim Sum nights. Yum!
