The River Stone flagship wine achieves a level of consistency every vintage, and is one the most awarded Okanagan Bordeaux red blends. The 2020 vintage offered ideal growing condition and Ted Kane delivers another GEM. On the nose, expressive aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, violets, fresh sage and pipe tobacco get your senses going. The palate is rich and complex, the tannins are present but not over the top, and the fruit profile is ripe and generous. Flavours of crème de cassis, black cherry, blueberry sauce, mocha and lots of layers on the finish with moderate spices like cardamom, cloves and white pepper. Re-tasted September 20, 2024: This wine has improved with age and shines at the moment!

Bold, rich and layered, this multiple gold medal recipient brings more support to my theory of greatness about the 2019 vintage in the South Okanagan.  A stunning and gracious wine , with complex aromas of dark plum, black cherry, raspberry, clean earth and espresso. The palate is rich and supple with luscious red and black fruits like ripe red cherry, black berry, black current, cassis, red pepper jelly, dark chocolate, vanilla, pipe tobacco, and a charcoal type of minerality. The mouthwatering acidity balances with beautifully integrated tannins, leading to lengthy and satisfying spicy finish. This is truly a World Class red blend that we can proudly call Okanagan Valley style. (CWC, Sept 25, 2023).

River Stone’s flagship wine is rich, concentrated, textural, and bold. This wine is warm and inviting, even with the lower 13.5% alcohol. The oak profile is up front indicating that I am experiencing a New World style of Meritage. Sweet fruits, dark cherry, blackberry, cedar, vanilla and white pepper are the main flavours. This wine is still young and can age gracefully in the cellar. A great reflection of the warm South Okanagan. (Carl Boucher, December 2, 2022).
