A stunning wine! This isn’t the first time Muscedere has completely surprised me with the quality of their Cab Sauv, demonstrating the potential of this region. The wine is complex, the wine has depth, the wine is expressive, the wine is compelling. It’s everything I look for when I taste Cab Sauv. Aromas of black fruit, cedar and graphite. The palate delivers notes of blackberry, black liquorice, a burst of maraschino cherry, sweet tobacco leaves, and a hint of savouriness past the mid palate. The tannins are grippy at the moment but this will resolve over time. The highlight of this wine is the very very long, lingering finish with white pepper and cloves. Really spectacular.
