This is “la crème de la crème” of the Da Silva portfolio, a tribute to their farming heritage and their knowledge of the terroir of the Okanagan Valley. The grapes were sourced from three vineyards carefully selected throughout the valley where each of them brings different attributes to the wine. This is the 2019 vintage at its best with a great deal of finesse, elegance and complexity. The nose is expressive and parfumy, offering aromas of blackberry, ripe raspberry, cedar, licorice and pencil shaving. The palate is graciously layered with flavours of blue plum, raspberry, dark cherry and cassis at first before transitioning towards an “Old World” savouriness well integrated with vanilla and dark chocolate. The finish is long and spicy with a defined expression of cloves and white pepper while the tannins are present but already well integrated, which is surprising for a young 2019 wine. The 10 to 12 years of aging potential will reward those who can be patient for this “Okanagan Masterpiece”. (CWC, 10/20/2022). 179 cases made.
