From three different premium sources of Riesling, including their own Twenty Mile Bench Estate and another one on the Four Mile Creek in Niagara-on-the-Lake, this wine is a stylistic snapshot of Dobbin’s Rieslings. On the nose, expressive and appealing aromas of apricot, beeswax, lime, peach, jasmine and just a slight hint of flint. The palate is soft and sensual with great balance between acidity and sweetness. The 15g of residual sugar is flawlessly integrated. Flavours of salty lime, peach pit, apricot, and honey suckle showcase the first part of the flavour profile while baked apple pie, melon, wet stone and white spices can best describe the back-end of this Riesling. The versatility of this wine is on full display here and the food pairing potential is endless. When tasted on the second day, this wine has shown great improvement from the day before, which tells me there is much more to come with this one. I’m very intrigued!
