Maybe one of the greatest ā€œRed Iconā€ releases I’ve tasted to date, from an outstanding vintage as well. Made from all five Bordeaux varietals with a splash of Syrah, which I’m always a big fan of. Big and bold, but also charismatic and fresh, despite the high alcohol. Ā Aged 18 months in French oak barrels, including 30% new oak. The oak is present, but never overpowering.

Ā

Even at this early stage, the nose is already complex and expressive, showing layers of ripe raspberry, black currant, black cherry, tobacco box, a hint of graphite, spice, pepper, and well-handled wood. Not fully open yet, but you can clearly see where this is going.

Ā

The palate is dense and structured, with a core of ripe, dark fruit layered in velvety tannins and well-balanced acidity. It’s quite elegant, but at the same time powerful and concentrated…a rare combination. The finish is long, deep, and the finish evolves for almost a minute.

Ā

Absolutely spectacular. (Carl Boucher, May 13, 2026).Ā
