This year, I tasted between 20 and 30 orange wines from all over the country, and this skin contact Gewurztraminer from Black Market has to be the very best of them all. The only problem with this wine is there was not enough made, with only one barrel produced (300 bottles). On the nose, gorgeous aromas of orange marmalade, golden gala apple, lichee, rose petals and even cinnamon buns. The palate is bright and crisp, with a pulsing acidity where you can feel the energy level going through every level of the wine. Flavours of navel orange, orange jam, nectarine, lime zest, and apple pie. A splendid wine! (Carl Boucher, September 25, 2024)
