Much like the 2019 vintage it comes from, this wine reflects quintessential precision and vivacity. Just two barrels were produced, from the Lincoln Lakeshore sub-appellation. Intense, elegant and delicate, this seductive Chardonnay offers vibrant notes of tangerine and yellow apple, peach intermingling with jasmine and stone. Pure flavours of golden apple lead on the palate, followed by citrus fruits, ripe peach, Bartlett pear, with a subtle saline and oak-spice on the very long and bright finish. The highlight here is the explosion of spicy lemon jam on the mid-palate with a seamless transition to the spectacular finish. This is a balanced and elegant vintage expression: truly 2019 vintage, which I believe is a spectacular one for Chardonnay in Niagara. A 30 minute decanting is suggested to help reaching its maximum potential at this time. (Carl Boucher, September 7 2024).
