A classic Syrah-Viognier co-ferment (6% of Viognier takes this wine to a high level. This is a true Bench Syrah, with layers, elegance and purity as well as richness, with 50% New French oak used for 12 months. On the nose, blue and dark fruits intermingle, plus a hint of fresh dark cherry, meat, damp earth, and violet notes. The full-bodied and brilliantly balanced palate shows ripe tannins and notable freshness. Flavours of blueberry and red cherry on the front-palate, followed by smoked meat, blackberry, mint chocolate, vanilla and tobacco leaves filling the mid-palate nicely.
