Well-aged and hitting its prime, this nine-year-old Merlot highlights the exceptional potential of this grape varietal in the Okanagan. A blend of Osoyoos and Penticton grapes, it was aged for 12 months in a 50/50 mix of American and French oak. The result is a wine that is soft, smooth, and well-balanced, cerebral enough to make you think, yet perfectly poised between power and elegance. Opens on a complex nose layered with sweet tobacco, savory herbs, star anise and olive notes, with a lovely vein of graphite minerality beneath cassis and plum. The palate is electric, its deceptive power seamlessly integrated into soft, resolved tannins. Black raspberry joins blueberry, while wet slate and iron-rich, soil-driven minerality spill into a long, perfectly balanced finish—serious and hedonistic at the same time.
