2019 Blasted Church “Nothing Sacred”

A South Okanagan-Similkameen Bordeaux blend, using the 5 classic varietals, showing super soft texture, great complexity and concentration. The wine was aged for 20 months in oak barrels (65% French, 35% American) of which 50% of the barrels were new to provide extra depth, layered flavours, tannins and softness. On the nose, expressive aromas of cassis, dark cherry, plum, chocolate, oak spices and dried herbs showcases a good compromise between style and vintage typicity. On the palate, the tannins are slowly resolving and melting into the wine right now, the acidity is bright and keeps everything crunchy and upright while the length is absolutely impressive. Dominant flavours include cassis, dark plum, black currant, expresso coffee and dried thyme. The spices on the back palate are noticeable and attractive, lasting forever with cloves and white and black pepper. An impressive wine solidifying my love for this very underrated 2019 vintage. 200 cases made.
