2021 Da Silva “Vinho Tinto” | 91pts

Round, fruity and well balanced, this field blend of four Okanagan vineyards was very well managed by Richard Da Silva and his team. For a 2021 vintage, I really appreciate this wine’s low alcohol and bright structure, especially during a challenging ‘heat dome’ in 2021. Nose of cassis, black berry and dark cherry, a hint of violet, red licorice and cedar box. You can expect a nice complexity from this crowd pleaser. The palate expresses some freshness, vivacity and nice tannic structure while the flavours offer dark fruit expression, a hint of blueberry, with a burst of expresso coffee just after the mid-palate before finishing on seductive oak spice notes and white pepper.
