This is a fruity and approachable, young Cabernet Franc with great ripeness supported by the right amount of acidity. In other words, a very well-balanced wine. With almost two years in French oak barrels, the black label Cab Franc is one of the most traditional wines of the Stratus line up. The nose delivers powerful red & dark berry preserve aromas, which are complemented by exotic spices, incense and floral nuances. This wine is layered and densely packed. Black raspberry, cherry-cola and spicecake flavours are surrounded by a spine of juicy acidity. Chewy tannins build steadily on an impressively long finish that leaves behind suave lavender undertones and smoky mineral notes. The length is very satisfying, elevating the potential of this wine another notch. (Carl Boucher, November 10, 2024).
