This wine is hitting its stride at the moment! I have tasted it previously and a multitude of characteristics that I had not discovered before have developed. Let’s back track just a little: I have been following the development of this wine since the grapes arrived on the crush pad, and was involved in multiple tasting at every stage of its production. The way that its evolving right now is very impressive. On the nose, aromas of fresh pear, nectarine, melon, citrus zest and a hint of almond cookie are lined-up in a perfect sequence. On the palate, this is like a crescendo, where you can feel a build up from front to back, where the acidity takes you inside the structure of the wine. The fruit component is pure and clear with flavours of pear, orange, lemon and yellow apple, while the finish explodes with spices and minerality. There’s only a few cases left, so don’t miss your chance to get a couple of bottles of Rob’s first swing at one of his favorite grape varietals. (Carl Boucher, September 25, 2024)
