Produced from three prized Cowichan Valley vineyards. The clones were fermented separately in terracotta and aged 20 months in neutral French oak. The final result? Absolutely spectacular. This wine proves that the Cowichan Valley is becoming a benchmark region for Pinot Noir in North America for those in the know. I could define the style as Oregnonian, but in reality, this is truly 'Vancouver Island' style. Dominant red fruit expression on the nose and on the palate, enhanced with a slight floral and earthy component which makes that Pinot fairly complex. The palate offers texture and layers, with a lingering, mineral finish that left me very impressed.
