Quietly powerful, intense and with alluring minerality, this complex wine delivers with elegance and precision. It feels like this one is built for the long run, and it showed during my tasting session with a much more expressive delivery on the second day. The acidity is bright, the alcohol is perfectly on point and the oak is well integrated. In other words, this beautiful Chardonnay is “technically sound” – and has a great personality. On the nose, aromas on Meyer lemon, green apple, white peach, hazelnut, jasmine and soft buttery oak spices. On the palate, this Chardonnay is loaded with complex and focused citrus notes and apple fruit, exuding searing acidity that is perfectly balanced by the sandalwood and vanilla from the oak aging, along with just the right amount of butter notes past the mid-palate. It’s crisp, clean and delicate, and will definitely evolve and improve with a few years in the cellar. (Carl Boucher, September 7, 2024).
