This is the complete other side of Syrah compared to the carbonic Syrah also made by Lightning Rock. This Syrah is dark, savoury, classic cold climate Syrah. With only 56 cases made, this is an extremely rare chance to taste a well-made, high scoring Syrah grown in Summerland. Built for the long run, this low alchol, concentrated Syrah offers aromas of tanned leather, dark cocoa, tobacco, black cherry, blackberry, and dry herbs. Savoury palate, rich and velvery texture, with flavours of dark fruit, mocha, sweet tobacco leaves, blackberry and blueberry. The finish has a graphite mineral component straight from the vineyard terroir, black cracked pepper, and cinammon. I can see 10 more years in the cellar with this wine.Â
