Made from some of the most sought-after sources of Pinot Noir across Niagara and aged in French oak barrels for 15 months, Ilya Senchuk has crafted another textbook Pinot—funky, expressive, refined, and seductive. Showing its youth, this Pinot took a little time to open up, but when it gets going… OMG—this is exceptional! Beautiful nose of violet, crushed raspberry, cherry fruits, stony wet forest floor, and a hint of brown sugar. On the palate, the tannins are compelling, and the acidity lifts the fruit component perfectly. Flavours of red cherry, strawberry, oak spice, and a sexy, savoury aspect make this wine complete and exciting. We don’t often see Pinot Noir at this level of quality for just around $35. Sometimes, a fantastic wine doesn’t need to be a single-vineyard expression—cuvées like this are always a joy to discover. Small quantity, so this one will disappear fast.
