Very classic in style, this Pinot Noir comes from a strong vintage that delivered plenty of heat units for the varietal. It spent 12 months in French oak barrels, with a healthy 33% new oak, adding depth and structure. Fruity with a touch of earthiness, this is a medium-bodied Pinot that shines with an outstanding line of minerality that kicks in just past the mid-palate. On the nose, it offers delicate aromas of crushed raspberry, red cherry, ripe cranberry, mocha, a subtle floral note, and a hint of wet forest floor. The bouquet announces a wine of elegance and finesse, supported by a bright, acid-driven backbone—more Oregon-style than Burgundian, I’d say. The palate is soft, balanced, and complete, with beautifully integrated oak. You’ll find flavours of fresh black raspberry, blue plum, ripe strawberry, and a touch of tobacco, all leading into a wonderfully long, lasting finish. The 2020 and 2022 vintages are showing a remarkably similar profile—what I’d confidently start calling the Garnet Valley style of Pinot Noir. (Carl Boucher, April 15, 2025) 450 cases made
