What a beautiful wine. True to the varietal, this estate-grown Viognier is beautifully textured, shows stunning complexity, and offers excellent balance between alcohol and acidity. Fermented in French oak, it sits comfortably in the medium- to full-bodied range and displays near-perfect Ă©quilibre across all the critical components.
The nose is very expressive, with aromas of pear, apricot, peach, grapefruit, chamomile, and vanilla. As mentioned earlier, the texture is outstanding, and the acidity is especially impressive for Viognier. The palate reveals multiple layers of orchard fruit, tropical fruit, and white spices on the finish. Flavours of apricot, poached yellow apple, and marmalade jump out with ease. This wine is just getting started and will continue to gain complexity over the next five years. One of my “surprise” wines from the 2025 Pan-Canadian Advent Calendar. 144 cases made.
