2023 Vineland Chardonnay Musqué - Mission Vineyard | 91pts | New Release!

A fantastic wine, by a fantastic winemaker, with a seriously fantastic ethos behind it. The tiny 'Mission Vineyard' was revived with inspiration from winemaker Brian Schmidt's grandfather's vineyard in Kelowna, going back 50 years. The proceeds from this vineyard also allow Brian and his wine to fund a charitable farm project that feeds a community in Haiti. This 100% stainless steel Chard Musqué with blow you away with it's florality, flavour definition and easy going personality. On the palate, ripe fruit including yellow apple, meyer lemon, a hint of grilled pineapple and a slight salinity that enhances the finish and makes this much more than a simple Summer wine. The level of complexity for a first-ever vintage is surprising and I can't wait to see the progression of this small-batch, single-vineyard wine.
