This is another spectacular value wine from Bella Terra Vineyards. The 2021 vintage brought a good deal of challenges for many Niagara wineries, so the team at Bella Terra decided to not produce their top premium series. 

The result was this wine: all the very best red barrels went into their mid-tier products, and the "Reserve" Cab Merlot emerged. This is a wine that absolutely punches WAY above its weight class, with some premium wine characteristics like fantastic length and texture.

On the nose, a good mix of black and crunchy red fruits, licorice cedar and hint of fresh sage. Aged for two years in the winery's French oak barrels, this garnet wine offers a solid core with expressive black cherry notes, blackberry, and red currant, accompanied by hints of expresso coffee, vanilla and oak spices.

Dry, intense and creamy, the energetic flow lingers for an extended period of time, concluding with a velvety, complex and spicy finish. (Carl Boucher, October 9, 2024).
