Mythologie 2018 « Harmonieux »
93.5
- Colombie-Britannique Vallée de l'Okanagan VQA
- 91% Cab Sauv, 9% Cab Franc
Here is my top-rated wine of this feature—and one of the highest-rated BC Cabernet Sauvignons I’ve tasted in the past several years. I was a big fan of the 2019 release (92pts, CWC), but this 2020 vintage is simply spectacular. The Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the Bordertown Vineyard near the U.S. border in Osoyoos, blended with a small portion of Cabernet Franc from the Herrera Family Vineyard in the Similkameen Valley. On the nose, it delivers seductive aromas of pure black cherry, cassis, dark plum, cocoa, graphite, and tobacco. The palate is silky-soft, with bright acidity still carrying through, and tannins that are now melting seamlessly into the wine’s structure. Expect layers of dark cherry, cassis, black raspberry, vanilla, espresso, a touch of sage, and a long, mineral-driven finish. I’d say this wine is entering its prime drinking window now and will continue to shine for at least another five years. Absolutely delicious. (Carl Boucher, May 2, 2025) Only 82 cases made.

Mythologie 2018 « Harmonieux »
92
- Colombie-Britannique Vallée de l'Okanagan VQA
- 100% Tempranillo
This rare Tempranillo delivers all the varietal characteristics I hope for. Light on its feet yet well-supported by a generous oak regimen (50% new French and American barrels), it’s fresh, vibrant, and pure—beautifully balanced and undeniably seductive. Sourced from Mythology’s home vineyard in Osoyoos, this ONE-barrel gem showcases the diversity of the South Okanagan terroir. The nose offers classic Tempranillo floral aromas of violet, cedar, dried sage, red plum, and a hint of vanilla, creating an expressive bouquet. On the palate, it remains slightly grippy—a nod to its 30 months in barrel—but that structure is part of its charm. The balance between oak influence, alcohol, and mid-palate weight is absolutely spot-on. Flavours of plum, crushed raspberry, orange peel, red licorice, black olives, fresh cracked pepper, and a generous helping of oak spices align perfectly, delivering a wine that can remind you of your last trip to Spain’s wine country. (Carl Boucher, May 2, 2025) ONLY 24 cases made.

Mythologie 2018 « Harmonieux »
92
- Colombie-Britannique Vallée de l'Okanagan VQA
- 100% Merlot
South Okanagan Merlot can often be overlooked—but this one deserves our attention. Mark Simpson has done a fantastic job elevating his vineyard after a challenging transition. One of only two Estate wines from Mythology, this Merlot spent 24 months in oak barrels, including 30% new oak. The result? A savoury, oak-forward expression of Merlot that leans more toward a Bordeaux style than the fruitier interpretations you might expect from California or Washington State. On the nose, you’ll find red currant, blueberry, cassis, mixed herbs, and spiced oak. The palate is evolving beautifully—softer now, yet still vibrant with a nervy, pulsing energy. Flavours of red berry compote, blueberry, dark chocolate, and stony minerality lead into a long—very long—oak-kissed finish. I’ll be keeping an eye on this one. It’s already impressive, but I suspect it will be even better in another three years. (Carl Boucher, May 2, 2025) 177 cases made.

Mythology Malbec 2021 🔥 Pré-sortie
91
- Colombie-Britannique Vallée de l'Okanagan VQA
- 100% Malbec
From the East Bench in Osoyoos, this is another standout expression of South Okanagan Malbec—and it reinforces my hunch that this grape is one to watch in the region. Ripe, full, and generous: Mark’s Malbecs are always a hit. The nose opens with plenty of floral character, followed by raspberry and red currant notes that add brightness and lift. On the palate, blueberry, raspberry, and violet lead the way, giving way to deeper tones of leather and cocoa through the mid-palate. The finish is long and grippy, delivering a satisfying sense of dryness. Well priced for a premium BC Malbec. Only 175 cases made.
UPDATE: A re-taste 18 months later reveals a very similar profile, but with clear improvement on the finish. I experienced a longer, more layered finale—with an unexpected explosion of white spice. I’ve added half a point for the added complexity: now 91 points. (Carl Boucher, May 2, 2025)

92.5
- Colombie-Britannique Vallée de l'Okanagan VQA
- 100% Syrah
Sourced from the Kismet Vineyard in Oliver, this South Okanagan Syrah is bursting out of the glass. After seven years of aging, it has become soft, elegant, long, and complex—showcasing exactly the Syrah traits I love to see at this stage of its life. This is a Syrah with character. On the nose, it offers a layered bouquet of black raspberry, blueberry pastry, vanilla, damp earth, pepper, and graphite. The palate follows with a medium to full-bodied structure: plush, ripe, and seductively smooth. Sweet, well-integrated tannins and moderate acidity lead into a stunningly long finish. Look for a meaty mid-palate, beautifully blended with mint-chocolate notes and lifted by a vibrant streak of white pepper—a signature trait of South Okanagan Syrah. This is a treat… and at this price, an absolute steal. (Carl Boucher, May 2, 2025) Only 99 cases made.

90pts
- Colombie-Britannique Vallée de l'Okanagan VQA
- 90% Pinot Blanc, 10% Siegerrebe
Sec | 12.0% ABV | Drink from 2025 to 2027
This is a fascinating wine, the result of a unique collaboration between Mythology Vineyard (Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley) and Alderlea Vineyard (Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island). Crafted from two vineyards perched above the Salish Sea on Vancouver Island’s shore, this blend of Pinot Blanc and Siegerrebe is both soft and refreshing, with stellar tartness and a long, pulsing finish. On the nose, it opens with expressive aromas of apricot, gooseberry, orange blossom, lemon zest, freshly cut grass, and a subtle hint of ocean tide. The palate is equally inviting—rounded and silky, yet lively—with flavours of ripe orchard fruit, crisp yellow apple, peach pit, zesty lime peel, and green Granny Smith. There’s a ripe apricot sweetness that adds depth, beautifully balanced by bright, mouthwatering acidity. I love the originality of this wine—it's compelling, coastal, and a true pleasure to drink. Mythology Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon 2022
90.5pts
- Colombie-Britannique VQA Vallée de l'Okanagan
- 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Sémillon
This Sauvignon Blanc–dominant blend (90%) is rounded out with a touch of Semillon, adding body and depth. Clean and crisp, it builds in intensity like a crescendo—starting bright and lifting into a beautifully defined finish. On the nose, it’s tropical, grassy, and delicately floral, with notes of lime, grapefruit, and jasmine. The texture is impressively soft and creamy—so much so that I suspect some barrel influence, even though there are no obvious vanilla cues. The palate opens with fresh pear and gooseberry, moving into a citrus-cream character at the core. But the true highlight? The finish. Long and lingering, it leaves a stunning impression of salty minerality, white pepper, and the zesty tang you get after tasting lemon peel. (Carl Boucher, September 7, 2023). 92 cases made.

91.5
- Colombie-Britannique Vallée de l'Okanagan VQA
- 100% Viognier
Crisper and more linear than the previous vintage, this Viognier is a standout example of what the 2022 vintage delivered for white wines in the Okanagan. With pure flavours, tremendous concentration, a well-managed alcohol level, and impressive balance and complexity, this single-vineyard Naramata Bench expression deserves real praise. On the nose, it opens with classic Viognier aromatics—white flowers, ripe peach, apricot, honeydew melon, and a tropical hint of starfruit. The palate is clean and focused, showcasing remarkable purity. The texture lands perfectly in the middle of the spectrum—not too thick, not too lean—just right. Flavours of tropical fruit burst forward, lifted by a citrusy zing. Think apricot, pineapple, mango, and zesty lemon, all in beautiful harmony. The finish is equally compelling, striking a perfect balance between a touch of residual sugar and bright, refreshing acidity—ending on that textbook Viognier note of subtle white pepper. The Story & People Behind Mythology

Mark Simpson isn’t new to BC wine lovers. You might recognize his name from Siren’s Call—a label he crafted over the past decade that quietly built a following for its bold reds and intricate blends.
Now, Mark has put down roots with the purchase of his own estate, alongside his business partner Teresa Centanni, who shares his life-long dream of owning a vineyard and making wines of place.
After decades helping shape some of the Okanagan’s most exciting wine projects, he and Teresa have taken over an estate in Osoyoos. It's here, in the South Okanagan’s sun-drenched desert, that Mark’s vision has evolved into something truly personal.
Their vineyard includes old-vine Merlot and a whisper of Tempranillo, planted in 1995, and they continue to work closely with top growers across the province—including sites in Oliver, Keremeos, and even Vancouver Island.
Every bottle reflects Mark’s deep winemaking experience, but also his curiosity and creative spark. These are small-lot, terroir-driven wines—thoughtfully made, never rushed, and full of personality
