2022 Fred Wines “The Wild Side” White Blend | 91pts

This is a very special wine made mostly with botrytis-affected Riesling. The botrytis brings soooo much richness and complexity to the wine alongside tremendous texture. The nose brings fresh aromas of yellow apple, Meyer lemon, tangerine, honey and wildflowers.  On the palate, this delicious wine is fully layered, delivering a first wave of flavours including freshly squeezed peach, followed by a tropical delivery of cantaloupe. After the mid palate you get more of citrus feel like tangerine, blood orange and a hint of ginger on the finish. A light sensation of stony minerality at the very end adds to the length and complexity. A tiny production for a unique wine! Well done Fred! 107 cases made. (Carl Boucher, August 5, 2024).
