The 2017 Bella Terra Blanc de Blanc is a rare traditional-method sparkling wine that really showcases the potential of Chardonnay from the Four Mile Creek appellation, especially in cooler vintages, and I am thrilled members have access as an exclusive release.

Now with nearly a decade of age, the wine has developed a beautiful creaminess on the mid-palate, while still maintaining its bright, lively acidity. The opening shows classic Champagne-like notes of almond cookie, along with green apple and delicate wildflower aromas. The mid-palate brings a touch of orchard fruit, leading into a long, mineral-driven finish.

The mousse is soft and creamy, lingering nicely on the palate. Not too big, not too fine, just beautifully balanced.

I truly think this is one of the most undervalued and underrated wines in the Bella Terra portfolio, and it’s absolutely worth discovering. (Carl Boucher, March 5, 2026).
