A wine of elegance and varietal purity: cold climate, colder vintage Cabernet Franc with appropriate pyrazines on display. Edgy and nervy, this wine shows great personality and obvious “Old World” Loire Valley-like delivery. On the nose, a very floral entry sets the stage with a second layer of green pepper & mint, licorice, black cherry and earthy undertones. The palate is more on length than on volume, but a great softness shows that the wine has arrived to a certain level of maturity. That’s not to say that it has passed its prime window: this Cab Franc definitely has more to offer. Flavours include dark cherry, blackberry, blueberry jam, green pepper, pipe tobacco and lots of savoury notes like dry rosemary, saltiness and a charcoal-like feeling on the finish.  (Carl Boucher, September 15, 2024).
