From the warm and bold 2020 vintage, this almost equal part of Cab Sauv and Cab Franc, with 10% Merlot to soften the edges, delivers excellent value. Medium-plus body, the wine opens with blackberry, cassis, leather, dried herbs, and a hint of molasses. The palate is generous and expressive, with ripe blackcurrant, black cherry, blueberry, vanilla, and oak spice. Tannins are soft and round, and both oak and alcohol are well integrated—this wine is in its prime. A spectacular red for $23. (Carl Boucher, June 6, 2025)
