2020 Vineland Reserve Cabernet🔥93pts

Big, bold, muscular and powerful. And what less would you expect from the famous 2020 Niagara vintage? By far one of the most rich and textural wines that Vineland makes, this Cabernet is almost a 50-50 split between the Cab Sauv and Cab Franc, and both varietals have spent 18 months in French oak before bottle aging. You can truly describe this as an iron fist in a velvet glove. On the nose: dark fruits, leather, graphite and pipe tobacco. The palate is silky, the acidity is lifted, the oak is well integrated, and the flavours are starting to melt together. Black cherry, blackcurrant, black forest cake, mocha, and a long spicy finish to highlight just how much of an absolute gem this wine is. Great candidate for decade plus cellaring. If you want to drink it now, I suggest a good 30 minute or more decant. (Carl's Wine Club, August 20, 2025).
