Only pure, bright, free run juice made it into the bottle for this rose of Pinot Gris from a local vineyard in Kaleden, BC. Intense and distinguished, this wine shows tremendous balance between acidity, natural sweetness and skin extraction.  A fruit expression of the versatile Pinot Gris greets you on the nose, with aromas of orange peel, lime, peach and a hint of raspberry. The palate is plush and layered, with impressive texture created by daily stirring of the lees during fermentation. Flavours of blood orange, nectarine, lime and lemon zest, pink grapefruit and strawberry pie, lined up in order, and progressing towards an expressive mouth-watering acidity and vibrant energy. An unusual hint of white pepper enhances the finish, which is not a characteristic of Pinot Gris but in this context, works very well and brings a new element. I very much enjoyed that wine.
